To improve service quality for participants of the National Health Insurance Program (JKN), BPJS Kesehatan has introduced a series of technology-driven innovations powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI). One of the flagship initiatives is the Smart Integrated Solution Customer Assistant (SISCA) JKN, an AI-based platform designed to enhance customer services.
In addition, BPJS Kesehatan has developed three other major innovations: Smart Claim JKN, Smart Analysis, and Smart Insight, all aimed at strengthening the efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness of Indonesia’s healthcare financing system.
AI-Powered Claim Verification
Smart Claim JKN is an AI-based claim verification system designed to assist verifiers in accelerating the review process of JKN healthcare claims while improving the quality of preliminary examinations. By leveraging artificial intelligence, the system can identify patterns, detect anomalies, and prioritize claims that require deeper analysis.
According to Edwin Aristiawan, Director of Information Technology at BPJS Kesehatan, the technology is expected to enable verifiers to focus their attention on complex claims or areas that need further assessment, thereby improving accuracy and reducing processing time.
